Note: this is supposed to be fun, If you dont have a sense of humour, fauck off please.
This community isnt really well-known for having sober and normal members (just use Keith or TeratO as an example of really old players and youll know what Im talking about!), and the year 2008 was not an exception!
Obviously, when you think about Populous and the year 2008, the year 1998 comes to mind instantly. Wow. 10 years! This game is almost as old as Fury! (damn?). Feels like it was just yesterday when my whole tribe got owned by one damn priest at level 3 the first five times I played it! 10 years! Who would say there are so many crazy people in the lobby to make this buggy game last for so long, cause we know you all love using G to make 5 firewarriors beat 50 warriors and blasting second saved your cornholio a few times getting the hill on Face Off. 10 years! That's almost the time it took for the members of GoD to notice that there are other maps than Face Off! 10 years! Thats a whole life, a life many of us would love to have (and Im looking at many of you, cause Im not the only one who made over 100 points in a month)!
Lots of -interesting- stuff has happened during 2008. For example, what does everybody have with rankings!? Weve seen threads over the year like: `My ranking of all of you`, `Why my clan is better than yours and a comment on how objective my opinion is`, `I PWN YU LOLZ`; and, obviously, Dragon Teams favorite one: ELO! How many threads did TeratO make on ELO? Around 34? I think the amount of threads is higher than my ELO, actually! It was interesting how ELO changed some peoples way of playing, AsG will kill me for this comment, but the amount of Brave and Tree Blasting from some people (*cough* Keith! *cough*) went up like a rocket, or like Nefarius position at the league during the year; the point pancake one, not the one TeratO made in order to not be first in the league so that he won't be called noob basher and whatnot! Besides, every ranking got screwed up with some games, for example, Sub getting owned in the GoPP; you can ask addiction about this or Genesis, I dont really know!
Now that I mentioned Nef, I wanted to make a special paragraph to new members we got during 2008 in this fine community: himself (Nefarius, not Stl :/) and Macca! We have learned many things from these two nice guys! For example: with Macca we learned a new language: `ladddddddd`, `##`, the already known `Aye`; and other totally weird stuff like that! Nef showed us that it IS possible to be in (and piss off) 4 different clans in a month! Not to mention all the nasty stuff AsG members were shouting when he left the just mentioned clan! (Dont worry though Nef, I still hold the record of being in AsG for just 18 days and you cant take that one from me!)
And talking about Asgard ... Shaman Skills Cup! I had never been called cheater before! I actually made Khaos leave the tournament! Got to love the ghosts shield! Shame `Rageons`; borrowed `Legions` power, and together, got me out of the tourney. Bah! The whole thing ended in a final between 2 AsG members, but that doesnt really matter (We dont want Hundredth being all proud about it once again, do we?).
When it comes to clans there are 3 of them that changed 2008 from 2007, and they all deserve a few words:
Four Universes: BEST TAG EVER; WORST ORGANIZATION/MEMBERBASE/SKILL/ATTITTUDE EVER. Just kidding,
FU was great. I mean, how cant a clan with such a great tag not be awesome? I was in FU myself (Thats why I said they had the worst memberbase ever) and wore the tag a few times, while I was in TDM. Shame on me!
Dragon Team: Also known as `Phoenix Rising`, or `Lets make a forum where all members use their real name as nickname so that we fool everybody about our membership and act cool about it until the ashes the Phoenix left gather again to form.. a Dragon`? Wait, I think they screwed the Phoenix myth there! Its all cool though, It doesnt matter if they are phoenixes, dragons or monkeys (tsk tsk) as long as they stop letting in any Xica or so just to make the clan active!
Dx: Is this the tag? Is this the clan name? Nobody really knows, but there are two things we all do know: 1. It looks like the revival of CnB (fo` sho`). 2. These guys seem to work with a theme - the male sexual organ has never been more POPular (And I'm looking at you, Mister Ahmed, Sir).
Its alright though, ladies and gentleman, we have them under control. Have you noticed how much power women are getting worldwide? They will soon do everything we guys do. Now there are woman presidents, woman footballers who are better than Ronaldinho or Ballack (Not Messi though) and now, we have a woman moderator. This is awesome though, women LOVE keeping everything tidy and under control and Kiyana has shown to be a great at doing so. Yeah I had to add that last sentence in order to not get banned. Theres something Kiyana couldnt control though. And that was Snak, Keith and Rand hurting our ears on Ventrilo. I'm referring to the so-called `Ventrilo Idol`-contest. For you who dont know (idiots), American Idol is an American (Oh Rly?) TV show where people go show how pathetic the human race can be. Snak, Rand and Keef showed that not all humans sing as if they had an orange stuck in their throat. Well, they tried to do so at least.
Talking about Keith (yes time for some criticizing towards you again, my friend); Who didnt love the show he gave before, during and after the clan match between Asgard and Dragon Team?! He was so sure DT would win, for some reason, even though the whole community and myself, tried hard to make him notice how low their possibilities were. Its said overconfidence isnt good, and this was a perfect example of why. According to him, Dave was the best player on Pressure Point. Appearently he was ill the day that game was played! Shame! Who knows? If Dave wouldnt of been ill the game could have lasted another.. 6 minutes!
