2. [TDM]Keith52 vs Skylo
3. [Rw]Ric Man vs [Rw]Fury
4. [TDM]Kwyjibo vs [AsG]Rageons

~~~
25/02/08 11pm GMT ::
For a few reasons (yet mostly due to connection problems) [Rw]Fury has been removed from the offical hosts.
[GoD]Khaos has dropped out, and his place in GROUP A will be replaced by [AsG]Boyd (after the chance was turned down by two undisclosed TDMs). We apologise to [GoD]Captain and [TDM]Kwyjibo who have made a great start to their games only to be hindered by opponents drop out, we can't do any more than encourage you to continue the good work and to not lose faith!
[Rw]Returner can now be found as [Rw]Ric Man in all threads related to this tournament.
~~~

25/02/08 8pm GMT ::

KNOCKOUTS HAVE BEGUN - QUARTER FINAL STAGE

All games are based on a 'best out of 3' basis (differing from the original plan of this only applying to the semis and the grand final)

For more info and the brackets - http://clanasgard.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1934

---

GROUP D FINAL STANDINGS

1. Skylo
2. [Rw]Fury
3. [PL]Daroo
4. [AsG]Shakkazulu

All participants are encouraged to complete their group stage games, even if they have no chance of securing a place in the next round. Inability to do this will be detrimental to your final runner up standing and also may deny you a place in future Asgard organised tournaments!

~~~
24/02/08 2pm GMT ::
[AsG]MentiX has replaced [Rw]Moorsy in GROUP A, who dropped out of his own free will.
Due to this upset, all existing GROUP A deadlines have been revoked, and a little more leniance will be given with the remaining games. However we'd like all participants in GROUP A to get a move on and catch up to the other groups, as 8 of the total 12 remaining games are GROUP A ones:
    tbp:
    [TDM]Kwyjibo vs [AsG]MentiX
    [TDM]Kwyjibo vs [AsG]MentiX
    [GoD]Captain vs [GoD]Khaos
    [GoD]Captain vs [AsG]MentiX
    [GoD]Captain vs [AsG]MentiX
    [GoD]Khaos vs [TDM]Kwyjibo
    [GoD]Khaos vs [AsG]MentiX
    [GoD]Khaos vs [AsG]MentiX
---
GROUP B FINAL STANDINGS:
1. [AsG]Sub Zero (joint on W, victory with less A)
2. [AsG]Rageons
3. [TDM]Bubbles (joint on W, 3rd place with less A)
4. [AsG]Drummerdude48
[AsG]Sub Zero will face the second place participant in GROUP A, and [AsG]Rageons will face the GROUP A winner.
Good luck to the above two, and well done to [TDM]Bubbles and [AsG]Drummerdude48 for making a successful tournament work. Once the group stage is complete, the eight runner-up standings will be announced.
~~~

23/02/08 8pm GMT ::

GROUP D DECIDERS

1. Skylo vs [AsG]Shakkazulu
2. [PL]Daroo vs [AsG]Shakkazulu

To finish 1st, Skylo needs to win GAME 1.

To finish 1st, [Rw]Fury needs [AsG]Shakkazulu to beat Skylo in GAME 1.

To finish 3rd, [AsG]Shakkazulu needs to win both games, conceding no more than 14 kills in both.

To finish 3rd, [PL]Daroo needs to win GAME 2, or for Skylo to win GAME 1.

---

[GoD]Khaos has 16 hours to complete 2 games, or else it looks like we'll be finding a replacement for his place in group A. If anyone has anyone in mind (active, not a complete ditz etc) then ask them to post a tournament application in this thread (see first page at bottom)

~~~
21/02/08 10am GMT ::
As the least active participant, [GoD]Khaos will be removed if he does not play at least two more games by Sunday 12pm 24/02/08.
---
Well done to [AsG]Sub Zero (B), [TDM]Keith52, [Rw]Returner (C) and [Rw]Fury (D) for joining [AsG]Drummerdude48 in completing all six of their games.
GROUP C FINAL STANDINGS:
with Adz vs [TDM]Dahaka the only remaining two games in this group, the final standings are cemented in with [Rw]Returner in first place and [TDM]Keith52 in second.
Both remaining games still need to be played for the sake of the eight runner up standings which will be calculated after all games in the group stage have been completed.
---
[xXx]Skylo can now be found as Skylo in all threads related to this tournament.
~~~

19/02/08 11pm GMT ::

[Rw]Fury has been added as an official host

19/02/08 11am GMT ::

GROUP B DECIDERS:

There are only two games left to play in GROUP B.. the final standing will be as follows with the different possible outcomes:-

1. [AsG]Sub Zero vs [AsG]Rageons
2. [AsG]Rageons vs [TDM]Bubbles

---

To finish 1st, [AsG]Rageons needs to win both games, receiving a maximum of 4 kills total in both.

To finish 2nd, [AsG]Rageons needs to win GAME 2.

---

To finish 1st, [AsG]Sub Zero needs to win GAME 1, or to lose by no more than a 5 point margin.

---

To finish 2nd, [TDM]Bubbles needs to win GAME 2, along with [AsG]Sub Zero winning GAME 1.

In the event of a win for [AsG]Rageons in GAME 1, [TDM]Bubbles can recieve no more than six less kills in GAME 2 than [AsG]Rageons does in GAME 1. (i.e if [TDM]Bubbles concedes more than four kills in GAME 2 he will finish 3rd, likewise if he concedes three and [AsG]Rageons concedes eight in GAME 1, or two and seven and so on so on)

In the event of a win for [AsG]Rageons in GAME 1, a win for [TDM]Bubbles in GAME 2 and the two players resulting in a tie on 'A', [AsG]Rageons must score at least four kills in GAME 1 to finish 2nd.

17/02/08 10pm GMT ::

25 out of 48 games have been completed, congratulations for the hard work so far.

Well done to [TDM]Keith52 who has taken the group C top spot from Adz - all other groups have seen no change in the first place standings.

[Rw]Moorsy will be replaced if he does not get at least one game played before 10am GMT on Tuesday (36 hours time)

~~~
15/02/08 9pm GMT ::
Well done all participants who have already got well into getting their games played, the current group leaders are as follows: A - [TDM]Kwyjibo, B - [AsG]Sub Zero, C - Adz and D - [Rw]Fury. Props to [AsG]Drummerdude48 for getting the most games played so far, with only one game left to complete.
At the time of writing, [TDM]Dahaka, [TDM]Keith52, [PL]Daroo and [Rw]Moorsy all have a grandiose total of 0 games played.. which isn't good! anyone who does continue to show inactivity within the tournament will be replaced !
Foreword
Hello, on behalf of Asgard i'd like to welcome everyone to our first tournament for the whole community!
I'd like to think we are among the most skilled in this aspect, our clan has completed over 25 successful tournaments on a variety of maps with several different formats, and we have also participated in two successful clan matches. As well as this - Ragnj - who is a member of the Asgard council has gained a well earned reputation as the most successful community tournament organiser with his 'God of...' series.
Please don't buttonbash reply straight away with 'OMG IM IN!!!', if you don't have the attention span to read this whole post then you won't be participating in our tournament!
The Format
This tournament will be played in a world cup style, with 16 (or 32 depending on interest) participants starting off in groups of four, playing everyone in their group twice each. The resulting top two in each group will then go on to play in the knockout stage and/or quarter-finals, semi-finals and ultimately the final to decide the tournament winner. The quarter finals, semi-finals and the final will work on a 'best out of 3 wins' basis.
The Map
The level the tournament will take place on is named Valhallah, and can be found as the only 3 player map in Asgard Worlds. This map is the only true shaman skills tournament map I am aware of, where the host (and referee) controls the game whilst red and yellow battle it out over an arena style landscape using blast, ghost army, lightning and tornado aiming for one goal - shaman kills. The first to ten shaman kills wins the match, which usually takes around 15 - 20 minutes.
As a clan we have had two very succesful tournaments on this map, with MentiX the current reigning champion after winning the second tournament, preceeded by the first (which resulted in a victory for yours truly).
Here is a bit of info about the map taken from our website:
Explanation (taken from the first tournament thread)
Basically as soon as you incarnate, you get 100 men to patrol for mana. Blue hosts, and judges the game from his umpire-ish CoR, whilst Red and Yellow walk to the end of their strips. (There is a fire to stand by incase you get cold). Instant reincarnation is available by killing the spare shaman at the start of the game.
Once Blue says 'go!', Red and Yellow battle to the death with Blast, Ghost Army, Lightning, and Tornado. Once victorious, the winning shaman must retreat back to his fire, and wait for the loser to incarnate and reach the other fire. Both players must then wait for a 'go' for the next round to begin.
First to 10 enemy shaman kills wins! The score can be checked by looking at the stats page - 's' in game. The losing player at the end must use the swamps behind his CoR for a handy genocide.
Rules
1. Both players must ally Blue as soon as the game commences. Blue must ally both players.
2. Blue cannot declare 'go' until both players reach their fire.
3. Once you have entered the arena, you cannot dodge back past your fire onto your strip, if you do this counts as a death.
4. No other spells except Blast, Ghost Army, Tornado and Lightning can be used. These should be kept off by blue. (restrictions are preset in header for your convenience)
5. Any left over ghosts at the end of a round must be cleared from the arena and sent back past your fire. They can be re-used in the next round, but sent in at the same time or after your shaman, not before Blue says 'go'.
6. No spells can be cast before Blue declares 'go'. Once you see 'go', feel free to stay by your fire and cast Ghost Army or whatever floats your boat, but you are not allowed to retreat back past your fire at ANY TIME.
7. In the event of a draw (simulataneous death), both players are awarded a point.
8. If the score reaches 9-9 and another draw-death occurs, players play first until 11,12,13 and so on.
All players wishing to participate should now take a look at this page - http://www.clanasgard.co.uk/pages/valhallah.htm - where screenshots etc can be found
Asgard Worlds can be downloaded here.
Alternatively, Windows Vista users can download the level and header files here. for manual installation - labelled as 'levl2127' to replace Craters in the basic maps.
Awesome.
What clan tournaments / clan matches / community tournaments have you participated in before? Well i took part in (correct me if im wrong) 2 tournaments in AsG: ToL tourny and the Civil War. One tournament while in TDM. Took part of Gods of Pressure Point tournament. No clan matches.
What were your resulting standings in these tournaments?
ToL: second.
Civil war: well, um, you guys know.
TDM tourny: second.
GoPP: super last, lost my only 2 games, lol.
Have you ever been removed from / dropped out of any tournaments, if so why? Well, i didn't finish the Civil war, because, eh, i left AsG. >_>
Hello I would like to participate in the Shaman Skills Cup (SSC)
What clan tournaments / clan matches / community tournaments have you participated in before?- Trees of life (organised by AsG in the interclan matches)
What were your resulting standings in these tournaments? I think the tournament ceased to continue due to lack of activity
Have you ever been removed from / dropped out of any tournaments, if so why?
I'm not sure if I was removed but I believe I must of unintentially dropped out of the AsG tournament due to others also
um you were actually knocked out by Timmaa in the first round who then went on to win the tournament, but close enough
are you active enough Mobius? little discouraged as to how you've only got 1 point this month so far!
Very nice idea guys, hopefully this will be a successful tournament! ^_^
What clan tournaments / clan matches / community tournaments have you participated in before?
I've only been in one tournament so far, GoD's Craters In-Clan Tournament.
I gotta be honest, i was never a big fan of tournaments, but i like em a lot more nowadays.
What were your resulting standings in these tournaments?
I lost in the first round against spartan >.> I was rusty i believe (lol).
Have you ever been removed from / dropped out of any tournaments, if so why?
I signed up for a tournament but never really got to play my game because my enemy never showed up at the same time i did, and we just didnt find a comon time to be on.. Sadly that tournament died due to the fact that most people didn't play their games..
A good thing about this tournament is that it is quite easier to get the games going on, doesn't take a lot of time, doesn't take that much effort.. we'll planned out.
Well, back in Asgard I participated in a large amount of tournaments, and since ive participated in Two GoG tournaments
What were your resulting standings in these tournaments?
I can't account for most Asgard tournaments, but im sure you can look that up for me. In the two GoG tournaments I placed tied last both times. Although I do feel ive improved since ;)
I don't think ive ever been dropped from a tournament before. Many a time I have replaced an inactive player though.
Thankies,
Hi Xetoss, i don't really recall seeing you on the matchmaker - even though your monthly stats do suggest other wise. have you recently joined [XxX] or had a name change?
accepted, although however if you are seen game-dodging you will give default wins to your opponents.. i often join your hut in the mm then you say 'brb' and never come back, or say 'sorry guys i gotta go' or say 'i'm watching something on tv'. bottom line is - if you can't play, don't host a hut. if you're busy or afk etc in the waiting list, use the status commands!
No fake accounts, post from your original account and then i'll think about considering it.. but i really don't think you fit under the 'RELIABLE' criteria
Hey, I geuss im just not finding the tiem at the minute. Im sorry guys, but ive decided to take a break from pop.
yet then you left AsG and joined Rw a few days later
how do i get a guarantee your not gonna suddenly decide to go through a 'it's cool to be inactive then you can come back in be remembered' phase?
